Trade organisations play an important role in the art and antiques market. Their remit may include lobbying, communicating information to members, offering professional development and qualifications, organising events, setting standards and ensuring adherence to them.
Other organisations listed in this section perform different functions such as providing online marketplaces, education or supplying other services to the art and antiques trade.

04 December 2006On November 27, the Guild of Arts Scholars, Dealers and Collectors took another important step in its development with the installation of the Master, Wardens and Court of Assistants. The Guild represents all those with a commercial interest in the world of historic arts as well as collectors and curators. It was registered by the City of London in September.

DACS distribute £65,000 in resale rights
11 September 2006THE Design and Artists Copyright Society (DACS) has made its second Droit de Suite pay-out to artists. It means that the collecting agency has now distributed over £65,000 since the resale levy was implemented in February. More than 140 artists have now received payments from DACS.
