BADA
The British Antique Dealers’ Association (BADA) is a trade association for antique dealers in Britain. Founded in 1918, BADA’s main aim is to ‘establish and maintain confidence between its members and the public, both in buying and selling’.
The association campaigns on issues affecting the trade and also stages an annual fair in London for its members.

BADA fight trade’s corner over ivory
23 March 2004THE British Antique Dealers’ Association believe campaigners are wrong to call for only independent registered experts to be allowed to date ivory objects. The move would drive trade underground they say.
BADA survey reflects difficult trading times
17 June 2003Lack of Americans hits top dealers. As American buyers stayed away, sales by 400 of Britain’s top art and antiques dealers fell by almost a tenth last year. This was one of the key findings of the fourteenth annual British Antique Dealers’ Association survey covering trading in 2001-02, completed by 58 per cent of members including well-known names such as Richard Green, Mallett and S.J. Phillips.
Trade warned not to miss deadline on price fixing claims
09 December 2002THE British Antique Dealers Association are advising members who qualify for compensation in the wake of the Sotheby’s/Christie’s price fixing case not to miss the claims deadline.
BADA survey shows dealer turnover up 7.5 per cent
15 April 2002The British Antique Dealers’ Association’s annual survey of its 388 members shows that, despite economic jitters, their aggregate turnover rose from £727m in 2000 to an estimated £782m last year.

BADA dispels the gloom as the right, rich folk flock in
09 April 2001LAST year’s BADA Antiques and Fine Art Fair was by consensus considered not just the best looking of the association’s ventures so far but it was also, by quite a distance, the most profitable to date for the exhibitors.
