Paris firm Pierre Bergé & Associés celebrates its acquisition by French auction business Millon Auction Group (MAG).
Pierre Bergé & Associés
Paris auction house Pierre Bergé & Associés (PBA) has been acquired by French auction business Millon Auction Group (MAG). Millon said the firm, which was founded in 2002 by the late Bergé (1930-2017), who co-founded the fashion label Yves Saint Laurent, will retain its autonomy as well as its historic address at 21 Avenue Kléber near Place de l'Étoile in Paris.
Millon's Marc Chochon has been appointed associate managing director of PBA and will lead the “modernisation” of the firm including plans for an office on the left bank in Paris and expansion in Belgium and Morocco.
Alongside Chochon’s appointment, new additions to the PBA team will be Prince Charles-Henri de Lobkowicz and auctioneer Jean-Daniel Toledano.

Alexandre Millon, president of Millon Auction Group, said: “Ironically, 25 years ago, Pierre Bergé made the acquisition of Millon et Associés the cornerstone of his strategy to conquer Drouot. Today, it is Millon that intends to bring PBA back to Drouot.”
Millon, founded in 1928, has recently acquired a number of firms including Galerie Moderne in Brussels and Il Ponte in Milan.
Alexandre Millon added: “Our model is simple: identify strong and legitimate brands, give them the means to achieve their ambitions, and create powerful synergies.”
